Family. Farming. Food.

Experience generations of potato farming history in central PEI

Live a day in the life of a farmer.

Taters, Tractors and Tales is three experiences in one — a working potato farm, museum and tour  —  that gives visitors a first-hand look into what it means to be a potato farmer in the heart of Prince Edward Island (PEI).

Walk through founder and farmer Peter Roberts’ barn and learn how our world-famous potatoes were planted, grown, harvested and prepared through PEI’s history, from the 1900s to the present day.

Watch dozens of antique harvesters, fertilizers, planters and other equipment come to life in the antique barn at our family farm in Kinkora.

Learn how the earliest farming tools were used on the Island, and see how our forefathers innovated the profession through many generations.

Roam the red-dirt grounds of the potato farm, with a close-up view of working antique farm machinery, stationary engines, and more.

Then take the short trip over to Hilltop Produce Ltd., a working farm that grows 35 million pounds of potatoes every year.

There, you’ll see how the potatoes you eat every day make it from our famous red dirt to your plate.

Experience family, farming and food at Taters, Tractors and Tales.

Where does your food really come from?

Our mission is to help you learn about the history of farming, where your food really comes from - and how it got from the field to your plate.

"The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings."

— Masanobu Fukuoka
